1547 Critical Systems Realty’s New Orangeburg Data Center Approved for Tax Incentive

Rockland County, NY (PRWEB) November 04, 2014

fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty (1547), a leading developer and operator of custom-designed datacenters, announced today that it has been approved for sales tax incentives from the Rockland County Industrial Development Agency (RIDA). The sales tax benefits will be used in the development of a new data center in Orangeburg, New York.

RIDA is a public benefit corporation dedicated to long-term economic health of Rockland County. Under the terms of the incentive program, 1547 will be able to take advantage of an 8.375% sales tax exemption on material purchases as they develop the 232,000 square foot datacenter on 32 acres at 1 Ramland Road in Orangeburg. In addition, RIDA’s Board has indicated its willingness to provide similar benefits for all new colocation clients at 1547’s campus.

“RIDA’s commitment to the development of Rockland County makes this an attractive region for business,” said Corey Welp, Managing Director and co-founder of 1547. “These incentives will help accelerate the build of our datacenter and allow us to extend purchasing power to our customers.”

1547 is the second datacenter recipient of RIDA incentives in a region that is quickly becoming a hub. The project follows on the heels of RIDA’s 2013 approval of sales tax exemption benefits for Bloomberg L.P.’s 130,000 square foot enterprise data center. Near the region’s major highways and key regional datacenters such as Bloomberg’s in Orangetown’s Corporate Park Drive and the NYSE datacenter in Mahwah, New Jersey, the location sits on a fiber junction that offers extremely low latency across the tri-state region.
